Marae Trip

Welcoming 
On Thursday and Friday, nui (seniores) when for a trip to the Te Poho O Rawiri Marae. We had a blast while we were there, first we had to get welcomed into the Marae. We had a powhiri as we came in and shared kia too. After we ate kia we went on to our rotation, we were all put into groups.


Thursday
We had lots of different rotation (all of them were fun) When our first few rotations were done we had a reka lunch. We then went to a few more rotations then set up our beds. We all had to double up in a bed with a friend. Then we ate dinner and did a performance in front of the adultes. There was kapa haka, jump jum, uke, we had a person from our class Jack came up and do some stand up comedy and more. Then we jump into bed Koka Ngaire our teacher read us a story and Koka Terri made us calm down and relaxes and got most of us asleep. 

Friday
As we all woke up we got dressed we all went for a run because we woke up to early and we had a nice breakfast we then welcomed the wai (junoures) and learnt a new songs we welcomed them in.Then wai kids joined into our groups and did more rotations with the wai kids.Then we had lunch got free time and did more rotations then caught the bus home in the afternoon. I had a lot of fun at the Te Poho O Rawiri Marae and can't wait for next years visit.

Kia Ora.

Josefa and I did a science fair project. We did it about what fizzy rots your teeth the most. We used a egg as teeth because it has calcium in the egg shell so it can rot with sugar.

When we first put the egg in, the bubbles attacked it and then to the last day the shell had got slimey and yuck. We had a lot of fun doing our experiment and the mountain dew rotted the shell the most. The lemonade didn't really do anything but peel the top. The coke and fanta did the same they stained the teeth.

Sadly, we didn't get into the regionals, but that's okay because we had a lot of fun. I can't wait for next years science fair project it is so much FUN!!!   

Term 2

This Term has been a blast, we have done so much cool stuff like we have gone to the museum trips, Retro Tech,  Hamanatua stream weeding, Matariki Activities, Anzac Day, Wheels Day, Ed Truck, my buzz group made a video about a washing machine for Retro Tech and we did lots more.

 My favorite part of term 2 was when we went to the museum of technology. I liked the museum of technology because we could touch and hop on all of the old stuff that people had to use back then.

Chapter Chat Vocab

Kia Ora,  in Moana Learning Hub we have been reading a Book call Fish In A Tree, for the term. It been a really good book and l have been loving it. Each week we get two Activities to do. This week I did a Poster and Vocab. I'm going to be showing you my Vocab. I like doing Vocab because i like learning new words. Hamanatua stream

                                         HAMANATUA  STREAM

Kia Ora, me and the class went to Hamanatua stream.We go to Hamanatua stream every second Friday to do some weeding. When we got there we jumped right into it. We all had to do lots of weeding, there was  lots of fennel we had to stomp on .The reason we went to Hamanatua stream because it's in our Pepha and we should look after it.We stayed down there for like a hour. We did a lot of work. We had lots of FUN!!!!!!

Wheels Day

On Friday Week 2 Term 2 Our Class went on wheels day, and we biked to the lovely pou.We had to bring a bike, scooter or skateboard well anything that  had wheels.I bought a bike.We also had to bring safety gear, like helmet, shoes and other stuff.First we biked to the pathway as Toby told us about how his great, great, grandma  keeps on telling people to build it.

Then we stopped at the pou were Koka Terri told us  all about it and how it is her family's.  It was awesome knowing why that was there, and the pou is a lovely place.

Then we started to bike back two school.I love biking so I was going pretty fast.I really loved doing that, and I hope we get to do that again some time so that koka Terri can tell us more about the pou.

Say Cheese

Hi today i'm going to share with you my Word work.Word work is a priorities that our moana learning hub (room 2 and 3) does each week.Word work is, you get to choose to do Kiwi Kids News and right a recall Thinking and a Activity, a writing card or poetry , alone with 4 Quick Writes and Basic Facts Challenge.

The Real Story . . .

Hi, this week my reading group fantails and Pukekos  have read about The True Story Of The 3 Little pigs By Jon Scieszka. The story of the 3 little pigs you have been told all your life is wrong.We had to learn lots like punctuation and expression listen to each other and most of all Team Work. We had to use screencastify, we had to have a clicker to know when to go to the nexts slide, and we all had to speak loud.

Culture Club

This term my class did something called culture club. Culture club is a thing where we had to choose a country. You could go in a buddy or by yourself, I went in a buddy - Stevie.   Our country was Japan.   We did a screencastify.  Here is our video you might find some new facts about Japan. Cafe Day

A few weeks ago we had a cafe day,You are probably wondering what cafe day is , well our class has been planning cafe day since term 2, Cafe day is a day were older people come and we give them a cup of tea, coffee and food. I was so excited when I got to school I gave some flowers and cookies that my Nana gave me to give to Koka Ngaire to set up for the cafe day. Everyone from our class helped bring some tables in for the elderly and our bookshelf and some games. Then we were all waiting for the elderly, when the first elderly person came we were all excited. When most of the elderly had arrived we started the entertainment there was ukulele, singing, skating, cello, piano, haka, and much more. We had so much fun.

Woman wakes up to a 5m python in her bedroom

Word Work in our class this week is to find something that interests as from kiwi kids news and write about it in our on words in our book the one that I found was A huge 5 meter python came into a woman's bedroom

Science Fair

Hello, this is my science fair project. My whole class has been doing it this term.I painted my board red and put light on the side, and even got popcorn bags from the movies, with little bits of popcorn popping out of it.  They got judged just last week this is what mine look like hope you like it....

Matariki Puzzle

This is my Matariki puzzle art. First you got a bit of paper with bit of puzzle bits on it then you went around the class. There was little cards we had to find then fill the puzzle bits in, with the card, it was really fun. It took us a long time to find the card and fill them in the puzzle bits and then after we found the cards and fill them in we had to colour. After we coloured, my hand was really sore.We cut out the puzzle bits and then glued it on a paper.  I am really happy about my work because I got it finished on time and it looks cool!
